What does a person do to spend their time, especially when jobless, trying to be productive?? Do we sit and chit chat around with neighbors or do we try to engage ourselves in meaningless activities? Do we spend time shopping for things that we need and for the most part that we do not absolutely need? Well, I for one sat here thinking about how to while away time as I wait for my work permit to come through so that I can start working and get out of this state of utter mindboggling boredom. I sincerely bow my head to those stay-in wives and women who are able to occupy their time in a more productive way. I was a stay-in wife too about 5 years back and then started working and now bam!! I cannot just not work. Weird or what??

Public Library

The public library closest to my house is one of my fav places to hang out. With its enormous collection of books and cds they serve as each book lover's fantasy. The staff there are friendly and they are quite helpful in locating any books that you need help with. In fact, it remains a mystery to me how they are able to remember the location of each book whereas it looks like a jungle to me with rows upon rows of books lined up to perfection. This library with its collection of fiction, regional, factual, maps, encyclopedia, and whatever a reader's mind desires, is frankly a place that I love.

Peacock

I have been working on this pretty cross stitch design of a peacock. This design has peacock sitting so superiorly in a tree with breathtaking pink, mauve, and maroon flowers. The contrast of the blazing colors of the peacock feathers with its deep blues, the light blues, the reds, the blazing yellows, and the burnt oranges with the flowers, the leaves, the sky, and the tree creates a breathtaking canvas of vibrant colors. I have been working on this design for almost 2 months now and hope to finish this design by this month. It still needs to be framed and then Viola! it is ready to grace my living room.

Indian Weddings

My husband has five brothers and he is the third one. We got married about 5 years back and we were restlessly waiting for the last two brothers' wedding. One brother got married in the March of last year and the last brother got married the day before yesterday. One thing about Indian marriage is that even though it is very tedious it never has a silent moment. Typically, a south Indian wedding takes place in three days. With awesome food and lovely company, it also provides people an opportunity to catch up with each other. Typically, the bride and groom dress up in brilliant colors. Our marriages are followed by receptions in most case where the bride and groom gets introduced to the near and dear ones plus acquaintances.

Hello World!

Hi to everyone. I have now finally stepped into this exciting world of blogging. My journey started when at one time where ever I turned there was a buzz about blogs and blog writing. At first, it was just a matter of interest of the lowest degree to me. Finally with all my friends getting into this world of blogs, I started getting intrigued by it. I wanted to frankly find out what all the fuss was about. With focus in my mind to find resolution to what this meant, I went to my brother's house and bugged him to help me create a blog. When I sat down to write my first blog, I knew that this was something I shall pursue for a long time.
